Package Audit & Refund Program

The Shipsurance Package Audit & Refund Program is for everyone who ships via FedEx and UPS and are looking for automated shipping refunds. Our program allows you to collect “found money” for carrier service failures, overcharges, incorrect rates, accurate weight, and duplicate invoices.

  • About 10% of all shipments are
    late and may be eligible for a
    refund.
  • Last year the total eligible
    refund amount totaled over
    $2 Billion!
  • Only a tiny fraction of that
    money was ever recovered.
FedEx and UPS guarantee that your shipments will arrive at their destination by the time promised. Even the carrier GROUND shipments have service guarantees. If a shipment is more than one-minute late and it is the fault of the carriers, you are entitled to up to a 100% refund of your shipping charges.

Once you provide us your shipping carrier information and fill out our application, we take it from there. There are no shipping logs to provide us. The carriers provide us all the information we need to start working for you. We may require a quick one-time step that takes only five minutes but our support staff will walk you through it.

Through our program we can verify each shipment and all eligible refunds with your carrier, adjusting for holidays, weekends, regional variations, and service exceptions. We check your electronic invoice or manifest for:

  • Accurate weight
  • Overcharges
  • Duplicated invoices and airbills
  • Correct rates
  • Applied discounts
  • Unauthorized account use
  • Damages to packages

What does this cost me?
It actually doesn’t “cost” you anything because we find the money for you. We charge a percentage of the refunds (only 45%) that are ultimately recovered for FedEx and UPS service failures. You pay our fees AFTER the refund appears on your carrier invoice. The refunds are sent to you, not to us.

Can’t I request refunds myself?
You can, but most companies never claim these guaranteed refunds because:
  • It is cost prohibitive for all but the largest companies to go through the process of auditing each package and requesting the appropriate credit.
  • We audit for late deliveries, address corrections, duplicate invoices, duplicate package charges, correct discounts, and manifested but not shipped packages.
  • We know how to locate common problems and correct them efficiently which in turn saves you time and money.

We hereby authorize FedEx and UPS to share our shipment information with the Shipsurance certified audit partner for the sole purpose of tracking the on-time delivery of our shipments and obtaining refunds for us. We agree to pay the Shipsurance partner 45% of the FedEx and UPS refunds we receive as a result of their work. Either party may cancel this service agreement at anytime without cost or restriction by written notice to the other party.
